The Carlton House
Stevie is a young man in our community in need of barrier-free housing.
He was born with cerebral palsy and mild cognitive impairment. He has looked for handicap- accessible and affordable rental options for many years, in hopes of attaining some level of independence. Zeeland is his home and his church is his “family” but without stable housing he remains at risk. Stevie is just one of the many in our county experiencing this need. Many adults are too high-functioning for adult foster care but unable, both financially and physically, to secure a house by typical means.
Project Details
The Carlton Home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, barrier-free home. It is an affordable rental home at 40 North Carlton in Zeeland, MI. It is currently under construction with an estimated completion date of Fall 2022. Doug Woodwyk is general contractor for this project.
