A note of thanks
A note of thanks on behalf of the first resident of this home
First, I want to thank my church family and my community. Since I was a little boy, my Church has cared for me. My grandparents always wanted me to be secure and safe. My Grandma pushed me to do as much as I could.
And here I am at the groundbreaking of a house that will do just that….help me to be secure and safe!
But this house is part of a bigger picture than I thought it would be.
I know how it feels to be limited in mobility and not be able to find a house that is suitable for someone like me and a place that I can afford. It can feel hopeless, like you are all alone. Like you don’t fit anywhere. Like this is somehow your fault. And it can feel impossible.
Thank you to everyone here for dreaming of the possible when it seemed impossible.
I love the bigger vision of Mary’s legacy because I know there are many like me that long for a security and independence.
I know that God sees me and I know that God provides. I know that God has a hope and future for everybody. People with disabilities have purpose and gifts to give! Thank you.
