Building a home where hope, stability and independence can grow.

We are a non-profit organization founded to meet the housing needs of adults with physical handicaps in Ottawa County, Michigan.

After receiving a monetary gift from the Schreur family in memory of their daughter Mary, the Schreurs’ home church set out to honor Mary’s life and legacy by meeting the needs of other adults like Mary.  The goal of Mary’s Legacy is to provide ongoing housing opportunities for those with few options due to their physical limitations.

Our Latest Project

With the Carlton Project completed, we are exploring new projects that we can initiate in the near future.

Completed Projects

The Carlton House

Stevie is a young man in our community in need of barrier-free housing. He was born with cerebral palsy and mild cognitive impairment. He has looked for handicap- accessible and affordable rental options for many years, in hopes of attaining some level of independence.

Mary’s Legacy was inspired by the love that Gerrit and Joyce Schreur had for their daughter, Mary, who was impaired. Mary’s Legacy meets the fundamental need that many people with disabilities face: stable, secure housing.
